Service Description: This is a map of racial makeup and vacant homes by census tract in Cincinnati, Ohio. The purpose of this map is to show that while the housing crisis disproportionately impacts minority communities, many minority communities in Cincinnati have higher rates of vacant, unused housing. My source for this dataset was IPUMS's national historical GIS dataset, I drew housing occupancy by census tract, as well as race data by census tract. The Hamilton County outline is to make clear what census tracts are part of the City of Cincinnati's borders and what is an enclave. The outline is sourced from the Cincinnati Area GIS (CAGIS) open data portal.
