The Ohio Cancer Incidence Surveillance System (OCISS) at the Ohio Department of Health collects and analyzes cancer incidence data on all Ohio residents. Each physician, dentist, hospital or person providing cancer diagnostic or treatment services is required to report to OCISS all newly-diagnosed and/or treated cancers. A reportable cancer is any primary malignancy, with the exception of basal and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin and carcinoma in situ of the cervix. Benign brain tumors are also reportable.
Cancer cases have been reportable to OCISS since 1992. You can access information on invasive and staged cancer cases reported to OCISS since 1996 on the following tabs. Data are updated once a year. Information on benign brain tumors, which have been reportable since 2004, is not currently available in this format.
