Description: The Country/Territory Seismic Risk Profiles were developed by the GEM Foundation to provide stakeholders with a concise yet comprehensive overview of earthquake risk around the world. Each profile includes:Social indicators offering socio-economic context;Risk indicators detailing exposure and average annual losses by residential, commercial, and industrial occupancy;Historical earthquakes that have impacted the region;Administrative-level breakdowns of average annual losses;Dominant building classes and construction materials;Loss curves showing expected economic losses for different return periods;Maps illustrating hazard, exposure, and loss distribution geographically. These results are based on a probabilistic, event-based risk analysis simulating 100,000 years of seismic activity. Please note that this analysis focuses only on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings; public infrastructure (e.g., schools, healthcare facilities) is excluded.
