Description: The Rental Apartment Buildings By-law 0089-2022 established strengthened inspection powers for Municipal Law Enforcement Officers (MLEOs), including the ability to conduct scheduled proactive inspections of common areas known as evaluations and audits. The scope of the By-law includes buildings that contain at least two (2) storeys and six (6) units that share a common area. Condominiums, registered long-term care homes, licensed retirement homes and housing co-operatives are excluded.
