Description: This digital dataset provides information about the distribution of pioneer cemeteries throughout Kansas. Pioneer cemeteries were identified as those presented on the Kansas State Historical Society website and coordinates were obtained from the USGS Geonames Server. Cemeteries were digitized as points and locations were confirmed using Digital Raster Graphics and National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) digital air photos as base maps. "Ground truthing" has not been conducted and this dataset does not contain every pioneer cemetery in Kansas.
