Description: <p>Channelization refers to a barrier (either physical or painted) that separates two lanes of traffic moving in the same direction. They are unlike medians, which separate traffic moving in opposite directions. For example, a painted gore that separates ramp traffic from mainline traffic. This layer is a custom layer developed by ADOT and is not part of the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) report. However, this layer is used to help calculate values required for HPMS. <br /><br /><b>Reported Extent:</b> All public roads where channelization exists.<br /><br /><b>Key Terms:</b><br />ADOT, MPD, 2023 HPMS, 2023, HPMS</p>
