Description: In order to create a level construction area of the required 125-feet width, ACP would have to cut down and remove the tops of narrow ridges and spurs that it follows along its route through the mountains of West Virginia and Virginia. Such "Ridgetop Removal Zones" would create significant difficulties with regard to transportation and safety, as well as excavated material management and disposal. Erosion and Sediment Control and related threats to trout streams and other high-quality water sources would also be issues of concern.
