Description: The 2010 U.S. Census Tracts geographic dataset was developed by the Syracuse-Onondaga County Planning Agency (SOCPA) for the analysis and display of demographic data in Onondaga County. The shapefile's polygons represent individual census tracts, which were derived from linear features extracted out of SOCPA's Street File dataset. Hard-copy Census Bureau TIGER maps (plotted at 1:10,000) were used to guide the on-screen selection and extraction of linear features from the street file. Fifteen commonly used demographic variables (obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau) are included as attributes for each tract. This dataset includes the City of Syracuse census tracts.
Data is owned by the Syracuse-Onondaga County Planning Agency (SOCPA). Data can be obtained from SOCPA upon request. May not be sold or redistributed without prior consent from SOCPA. Data should only be used for general planning purposes. This dataset is NOT an official product of the U.S. Census Bureau.
