The location of water hydrants in public water systems in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. A water hydrant is a feature that can be above or below the ground that is located on a waterline and is used to release water from a distribution system for the purpose of flushing, fire protection, or for any other purpose as needed. These data specifically include, but are not limited to, “small systems” or systems with a directly serviceable population of 10,000 or less as collected by the Area Development Districts under the FY2014-FY2017 Kentucky Infrastructure Authority contracts.
