Service Description: Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources, Coastal Resources Division contracted with Georgia Southern University and the Applied Coastal Research Lab to asses barrier island, upland, and estuarine shoreline positions, erosion rates, and forcings to assist with vulnerability assessments and planning to help coastal communities develop and prioritize responses to shoreline change and sea level change. This dataset was developed to provide additional shoreline data, estimate erosion rates along Georgia's coastal counties, and develop improved information products for state and local governments. A SLAMM (version 6) model simulation using a “1-meter sea-level rise estimate by the year 2057” (50 years from the model’s initial baseline conditions) to determine upland areas potentially vulnerable to conversion into tidally inundated environments (e.g. marsh, tidal flats).

A SLAMM (version 6) model simulation using a “1-meter sea-level rise estimate by the year 2107” (100 years from the model’s initial baseline conditions) to determine upland areas potentially vulnerable to conversion into tidally inundated environments (e.g. marsh, tidal flats).
