Description: Site & Structure Address Points is the authoritative address point repository for Shelby County, Tennessee. Maintained by Shelby County 911, the layer represents addressable sites and structures throughout the county — including Memphis and its surrounding municipalities — and provides a consistent, structure-level geographic reference for emergency communications, public safety, mapping, geocoding, GIS analysis, data integration, and other location-based applications.
Each feature contains a complete address together with the component fields used to describe and manage the location. Depending on the record, attributes may include street number and street name components; building, floor, and unit information; subdivision and landmark names; Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) community, county, state, and postal information; Emergency Service Number (ESN); parcel and road-segment identifiers; longitude and latitude; Tennessee State Plane coordinates; elevation; addressing authority; source and collection information; verification method; lifecycle status; and dates associated with geometry or attribute maintenance. Attribute definitions follow the site address point schema in the Tennessee Emergency Communications Board (TECB) GIS Data Standards for NG9-1-1 (https://scecd.maps.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/b951971e9fb44cca9b918f2610f8963b/data).
The hosted layer includes a configured pop-up that presents formatted address information with direct links to Google Maps, Bing Maps, the Shelby County Assessor's property record card, and the Shelby County Register of Deeds. The layer is published as open data to support situational awareness, planning, data discovery, application development, quality control, spatial analysis, and integration with compatible GIS workflows. Content is updated regularly as new addresses are created and existing locations are corrected, modified, or retired.
The same authoritative address data maintained in this repository is ingested into computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and 9-1-1 mapping platforms serving Shelby County. Users should evaluate the dataset for suitability within their own applications and consult the credits and use limitations associated with this item for applicable attribution and conditions of use.
