Description: Historic Districts are groups of buildings, structures, and their surroundings that are architecturally and historically distinctive. Historic districts promote the economic, cultural, educational, and general welfare of their citizens through the preservation of buildings and places associated with a style of architecture that is locally or nationally important. New Haven has two State Historic Districts: Suburban Westville and Upper Davenport\Congress Avenues. This data has been used to gather information in individual districts and as a general reference.
