Description:

These layers display the mapped extents of coastal erosion and inundation hazards along the Waitaki District coast, as per the NIWA ‘Waitaki District Coastal Hazards’ study report carried out for ORC in 2019.

Coastal Erosion Hazard zone lines were mapped for the entire length of the Waitaki District Coast for two outlook periods (50 and 100 years) and two risk levels (CHZ50 and CHZ95):

CHZ50

This line denotes a 50% probability of erosion extending up to or landward of this line over the relevant outlook period (50 or 100 years).

CHZ95

This line denotes a 5% probability of erosion extending up to or landward of this line over the relevant outlook period (50 or 100 years).
