Service Description: This feature class comprises a regional-scale (approximately 1:250,000) depiction of the recognised active and potentially active faults of the Clutha and Dunedin City districts of the Otago region, New Zealand. It is a merged dataset (made up of Dunedin-Clutha (2021), Queenstown-Central Otago (2019) and Waitaki (2016) active faults datasets) with a 250m buffer used to depict the active fault trace, and symbolised by community area exposure level.

Description:

This layer is a merged dataset (made up of Dunedin-Clutha (2021), Queenstown-Central Otago (2019) and Waitaki (2016) active faults datasets) with a 250m buffer used to depict the active fault trace, and symbolised by community area exposure level. 

Unless indicated otherwise, all the fault data have been compiled at a regional scale (1:250,000) with a general accuracy of ± 250 m, and at best, ± 100 m. The geographic coordinate system for the data is New Zealand Geodetic Datum 2000.
