This layer displays projected future shoreline positions at the Clutha Delta coastline, as per the Jacobs (New Zealand) Ltd ‘'Molyneux Bay and Clutha Delta morphology investigation' study report carried out for ORC in 2021.

Projected future shoreline positions were developed for the Molyneux Bay-Clutha Delta coastline for 30-year (2050) and 50-year (2070) outlook periods, based on extrapolation of observed coastal erosion rates and the influence of sea level rise(at SLR increments 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 m above 2020 mean sea level).

For the coastline to the south of the Clutha River’s Koau mouth, two different scenarios are developed regarding extrapolation of observed erosion rates, these are noted as ‘with wall’ and ‘without wall’.
