HazMat Spill Polygons is an operational GIS feature class that stores polygon boundaries representing the estimated or observed spatial extent of hazardous material release incidents. Each feature corresponds to a single spill event footprint and includes attributes used to manage response and documentation, such as a unique spill identifier, incident status and priority, date/time reported and closed, suspected source/cause, material category and substance name, estimated quantity and affected media (soil, water, vegetation, pavement), environmental/public safety impacts, and key response actions (containment and cleanup activities). Attachments may be used to store supporting photos, reports, and field notes. The dataset supports field mapping, situational awareness dashboards, historical analysis, and regulatory/agency reporting where applicable.
